The previous version would tell you that it may not be compatible w/Vista 64 at installation.

Note: The software is not a 64 bit application (checked it in Windows Task Manager, still says *32 bit). TitanTV is an electronic program guide ( ), and if you sign up for a free account, any time you see a program on you want to record, hit the record button on the site and it will pass a script to the Pinnacle PVR software. Definitely less buggy than previous versions (version 4.90 and before keeps crashing both Vista 32 and Vista 64, but worked fine with in XP Pro SP3). The newly released software Pinnacle TV Center Pro 5.20 is much better and is Vista 64 bit compatible. The model I have is the Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick (model 800e, which I bought from Woot a year ago). Pinnacle products are absolute J - U - N - K ! Looking for the perfect Christmas gift to buy someone you HATE? Buy them one of these. I’ve searched the entire hard drive, programs, everything and everywhere their might be any trace of the software or driver and can find nothing, yet it still says “you must uninstall”. This is all I’ve ever been able to get it to do.

I uninstalled via their uninstall software, rebooted, tried to load new software and their program said “you must uninstall softare”, and started over. You must uninstall only thru their software (not through “uninstall programs”).
#Pinnacle studio 22 keeps crashing how to#
On updating the software (which was followed to the letter on how to do it), it has never returned to working. I fought with it on my home “junker” E-machine laptop and finally got it to work. I shoulld have learned by my older PCTV stick. This a terrible product wiith NO support (yes, tech support was emailed… by the way, prior to buying this… if you don’t heed this warning… go to their tech support page and read the MANY ways they DON’T want you to contact them!) It is a crap shoot if or how it will work. Engineer 3: Successfully loaded and started up program only to see the “Microsoft Blue Screen of Death” fatal error.

It appeared to load but appeared no where in programs or start-up. Engineer #2: Program never did successfully load. Engineer #1: loaded but ran out of memory (on a Gig of RAM?!). The three engineers of this TV station were each were given a PCTV stick to load on their Dell Latitude D610’s. Avid used to be THE company for non-linear digital editing and good products, but they’re all but fading away. RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY FOR THESE!!! Pinnacle is owned by Avid. Had two at my old TV station and they had flakey software, but made the assumption this update stick would be better.

Purchased three of these for the laptops of the engineering department for a TV station the last time they were on Woot (only a few weeks ago).
